These strong and gusty winds are expected to persist through the afternoon...and diminish by around 6 PM CST...or 5 PM MST...when temperatures begin cooling towards sunset and the surface winds are no longer linked with the stronger winds aloft. People driving on east west roads this afternoon across south central and southeastern North Dakota can expect gusty cross winds while driving. Farmers operating farm equipment should be mindful of the possibility of starting a fire...as the fire would likely spread very quickly.
