Strong low pressure will move slowly northeast along the coast today. This will produce strong northeast winds of 25 to 35 mph this morning... with winds becoming north and decreasing to 20 mph later this afternoon. The strong winds will increase water levels over the southern Pamlico Sound and produce the threat of minor flooding with water rises of 2 to 3 feet above normal from Oriental to New Bern.
