Statement as of 11:15 AM EST on November 12, 2009
... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EST this evening...
A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EST this evening.
Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph... with gusts as high as 40 mph...
will continue through this afternoon across the Piedmont of North
Carolina... and the eastern South Carolina Piedmont. These gusty
winds... combined with saturated soil from the recent heavy rain...
will continue to cause trees to become uprooted across the
advisory area.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
This Wind Advisory has been issued because gusty winds are
expected to cause quite a few trees to fall due to saturated
soil. This may result in scattered power outages.
