Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 2:59 PM EST on February 27, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9 PM this evening to
10 am EST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for black ice... which is in effect from 9 PM
this evening to 10 am EST Saturday.

* Locations... the northern Piedmont and northern coastal plain
including The Triad and Triangle.

* Hazard types... areas of black ice across northern portions of
North Carolina.

* Timing... this evening through mid-morning on Saturday.

* Impacts... freezing of meltwater will create areas of black
ice. The refreezing of the ice and snow pack will result in
tricky travel and walking conditions. Be extremely cautions on
area roads... streets... sidewalks... parking lots... steps
and even on interstates... especially the bridges...
overpasses... and ramps.

* Temperatures... in the mid 20s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

If you must travel tonight and Saturday morning... stay alert for
black ice... slow down... and leave plenty of following distance.
