Ocean overwash between Ocracoke and Hatteras Inlet closed portions of Highway 12 from Thursday night through noon on Saturday. Soundside flooding of 12-18 inches impacted the northern side of the island. 11/12/2009 1000 PM Ocracoke, Hyde County. Non-thunderstorm wind gust m58 mph, reported by dept of highways. Ferry terminal recorded 58mph wind gusts.
