Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 4:01 PM EST on March 05, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to
10 am EST Friday...

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for black ice... which is in effect from midnight
tonight to 10 am EST Friday.

* Locations... much of the sandhills and southern coastal plain...
including Southern Pines... Fayetteville... Clinton...
Albemarle... and surrounding areas.

* Hazard types... black ice on sidewalks and roads.

* Timing... temperatures will drop below freezing between midnight
and 2 am across south central North Carolina... causing any
wetness on roads and sidewalks to freeze. Readings are likely to
stay below freezing until mid morning Friday.

* Impacts... hazardous travel conditions.

* Winds... north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Temperatures... lows tonight will be 25 to 30.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued because wet roads and
cold temperatures will result in areas of black ice on roads and
sidewalks. Motorists should exercise extreme caution tonight into
Friday morning... especially at intersections... onramps and
offramps... bridges... and overpasses... where accidents are most
likely.
