Coastal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 5:23 AM EST on November 15, 2009
... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 am EST this
morning...
A coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 am EST this
morning.
This morning's high tide cycles will occur through 8 am EST at
Duck North Carolina... Chesapeake Bay bridge Tunnel... and Sewells
Point. Water levels referenced to mean lower low water... are
expected to peak between 5.0 to 5.5 feet at Duck North Carolina...
4.3 to 4.8 feet at Sewells Point and 4.5 to 5.0 feet at Chesapeake
Bay bridge Tunnel. These values result in minor flooding at all
locations.
Tidal anomalies will continue to drop later today... with no additional
flooding expected.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
