The National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City has issued a
* Flood Watch for a portion of eastern North Carolina... including the following areas... Beaufort... Carteret... Craven... Jones... Martin... Onslow... Pamlico and Pitt.
* Until 10 am EST this morning
* widespread rain will continue this morning as low pressure moves slowly northeast along the coast. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected north of Highway 70 with up to 1 inch south. These amounts on top of the 3 to 6 inches that has already fallen will lead to significant runoff... with flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas continuing to be possible.
