... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 am to 5 PM EST
Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... freezing rain and sleet... which is in
effect from 3 am to 5 PM EST Sunday.

* Locations... Tazewell... Smyth and Grayson counties in Virginia
south through the northwest mountains of Virginia.

* Hazard types... snow... sleet and freezing rain.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of less than an inch... along
with up to a tenth of an inch of ice.

* Timing... late tonight into 5 PM Sunday.

* Impacts... hazardous travel conditions.Roads will be snow and ice
covered overnight into Sunday. Traveling will be dangerous
during this time. Visibility will be reduced below one-mile at
times in snow Sunday morning.


* Winds... south 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures... in the upper 20s and lower 30s... climbing into
the mid 30s Sunday afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
