Special Statement
Statement as of 3:17 PM EDT on March 30, 2015

... Increased fire danger Tuesday afternoon...

Dry high pressure will be over the region on Tuesday which will
promote temperatures warming into the 60s to around 70 over most
of western North Carolina. In response... relative humidity values
are expected to fall into the lower to mid 20s for several hours.
Fine fuels will be slowly drying and fuel moisture may reach
critical values during the afternoon hours. Winds will be mostly
soutwest and increase to around 10 mph with some gusts to 20 mph
over the higher ridge tops. The combination of dry air and fuels
will heighten fire danger.
