A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST
Saturday.

A mixture of rain... snow... and sleet will spread across the
Charlotte Metro area today. The precipitation is expected to
change to mainly sleet and snow later this afternoon through this
evening. The precipitation should then taper off from the
southwest early Saturday.

Storm total snow and sleet accumulations will be highly variable
across the area... with the highest amounts in northwest sections
and lowest amounts to the southeast. Most areas will see
accumulations of about 1 to 2 inches. Locally higher amounts will
also be possible within heavier bands of precipitation.

In addition... northeast winds of 15 to 25 mph... with gusts to 35
mph... will develop today through this evening. This may result in
broken tree limbs and isolated power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
