Statement as of 3:59 PM EST on December 02, 2009 The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a * Flood Warning for the French Broad River at Blantyre. * From this evening tthrough Friday morning... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 3:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 13.2 feet. * Flood stage is 16.0 feet. * Minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to rise to near 18.5 feet by Thursday morning. The river will fall below flood stage by late Friday morning. * Impact... at 18.0 feet... secondary roads along the river and farmland will be flooded. River Road will be under water.

Statement as of 4:21 AM EST on December 03, 2009 ... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST early this morning... A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST early this morning. Winds will continue to abate over parts of the central and southern mountains and adjacent foothills early this morning. Therefore... the Wind Advisory will be allowed to expire at 6 am. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
