A coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM EST this afternoon.
Strong low pressure will move slowly northeast along the coast today. This will produce strong northeast winds of 20 to 30 mph this morning... with winds becoming north and decreasing to 20 mph later this afternoon. The strong winds will increase water levels over the southern Pamlico Sound and produce the threat of minor flooding with water rises of 2 feet above normal from Oriental and Washington to New Bern.

Kenansville and Jacksonville can expect occasional winds gusts of 40 to 45 mph into the early afternoon hours. These gusty winds may blow down some trees due to the very wet ground.
