... Wind Advisory in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Thursday...
The National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City has issued a Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Thursday.
An area of low pressure will move northeast across the coastal waters of North Carolina tonight through Thursday night. At the same time high pressure will continue over New England. The pressure gradient in between these two features will result in strong northeast winds across the area. Winds will subside Thursday night through Saturday as the low moves east of the region.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 31 to 39 mph with higher gusts are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
