... Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 am EST this morning...
A coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 am EST this morning.
Strong north flow will continue to weaken today... but tidal anomalies will be slow to diminish... keeping the threat for moderate flooding through this morning's high tide cycle.
This morning's high tide cycles occur between 6 and 7 am EST... with water levels staying up through the mid morning hours. Water levels referenced to mean lower low water... are expected to peak between 5.3 to 5.8 feet at Sewells Point... and 5.5 to 6.0 feet at the Chesapeake Bay bridge Tunnel. These values result in moderate flooding at both locations. Tidal anomalies will continue to trend down later today... but minor flooding will still be possible around the time of high tide this evening and again Sunday morning.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring or imminent. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert for rising water... and take appropriate action to protect life and property.
