... Areas of black ice possible through Saturday morning...

Temperatures will be below freezing across the North Carolina
mountains and northwest Piedmont through Saturday morning. This
will allow patches of black ice to form on Road surfaces as
melted snow and slush refreeze. Drivers on area roadways should be
prepared to encounter very slippery spots. Some areas on roads
that appear clear may be covered by a thin layer of ice.
