... High surf advisory now in effect until 1 PM EST this
afternoon...
The high surf advisory is now in effect until 1 PM EST this
afternoon.
Large seas of 12 to 18 feet off the Outer Banks early this morning
will gradually subside today. Waves in the surf zone are expected
to remain at or above 8 feet through the morning.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing dangerous rip currents and
localized beach erosion.
