Large seas of 12 to 18 feet off the Outer Banks early this morning will gradually subside today. Waves in the surf zone are expected to remain at or above 8 feet through the morning. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area... producing dangerous rip currents and localized beach erosion.
