Statement as of 3:22 AM EDT on July 06, 2009
... Another round of showers and thunderstorms...
A second round of showers and thunderstorms will move east across
northeast North Carolina early this morning. Areas from Jackson to
Ahoskie to Edenton and Elizabeth City will see occasional lightning
with locally heavy downpours through 6 am. Additional rainfall
amounts between one half to one inch are possible. The runoff from
the rainfall will result in ponding of water on roadways and minor
flooding of poor drainage areas. Motorists are urged to use extra
caution while traveling early this morning.
