Special Statement
Statement as of 8:24 PM EDT on April 19, 2015

... A line of heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms with strong
wind gusts will affect portions of southwestern
wake... Cumberland... southwestern Orange... Chatham... southern
Alamance... Lee and Harnett counties until 915 PM EDT...

At 821 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
line of showers and isolated thunderstorms along a line extending
from 6 miles southwest of Siler City to 8 miles southwest of Fort
Bragg to near Lumberton... and moving northeast at 45 mph.

Wind gusts up to 45 mph will be possible with these showers
and storms.

Locations impacted include...
Fayetteville... Cary... Chapel HIll... Sanford... Pittsboro...
Lillington... Siler City... Fort Bragg... Carrboro and Fuquay-Varina.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Seek shelter in a nearby building or vehicle. Wind gusts as high as
45 mph are capable of knocking down small or weakened trees and
blowing around trash cans... potted plants... lawn furniture and other
light outdoor objects.

Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in
ponding of water on roadways. Drivers are urged to slow down and use
extra caution to avoid hydroplaning.
