... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 8 am Monday to midnight
EDT Monday night above 3500 feet...
The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued
a Winter Weather Advisory above 3500 feet for snow... which is in
effect from 8 am Monday to midnight EDT Monday night.
Rain showers will change over mainly to snow at elevations above
3500 feet Monday morning. The snow showers will become numerous in
the afternoon and evening. They will end in most areas by late
evening... though the snow shower activity will continue most of
the night along the Tennessee line.
By the time the snow ends... around 2 inches of accumulation is
expected at elevations above 3500 feet. The very highest
elevations... generally above 4500 feet... could see several inches
of snow during the afternoon hours. Most valley locations will
only see a mix of rain and snow with little if any accumulation.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
