At 630 PM MDT...National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Box Elder to 9 miles north of Winifred...moving east at 40 mph. Locations near the path of the thunderstorms include Box Elder and Hays. This also includes Highway 2 between mile markers 414 and 415. This also includes Highway 87 between mile markers 87 and 92. Hail up to a half inch in diameter...wind gusts to 50 mph...brief heavy rainfall and frequent lightning strikes can be expected from these storms. If you are caught outside...seek shelter from the weather in a sturdy building. Strong wind...hail...heavy rain...and deadly lightning are all possible from this storm. Stay inside away from windows until the storm has passed. Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If outdoors...stay away from isolated high objects such as trees. Move indoors if possible. When indoors...stay away from windows and doors and avoid using telephones unless it is an emergency. Try to unplug unnecessary electrical appliances before the thunderstorm approaches. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT Monday evening for western Montana.

At 622 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail... and destructive winds in excess of 70 mph. This storm was located near Suffolk... or 27 miles north of Lewistown... moving east at 35 mph.
This also includes Highway 191 between mile markers 22 and 76.
Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Fergus

This is a dangerous storm. If you are in its path... prepare immediately for damaging winds... destructive hail... and deadly cloud to ground lightning. People outside should move to a shelter... preferably inside a strong building but away from windows.
