The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter Weather Advisory... which is in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 11 am MST Thursday.
A moist Pacific storm system will combine with a cooler airmass to bring snow across higher elevations of southwest Montana starting late this evening through Thursday. Precipitation will start out as all rain or a rain and snow mix this afternoon then changeover to all snow this evening. Total snow accumulations will range from 3 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts possible in the mountains. Snow will taper to snow showers Thursday morning.
