The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 11 am MST Tuesday.
Southwest winds at 25 to 40 mph with gusts to around 55 mph early in the evening will increase to 35 to 50 mph with gusts to around 65 mph overnight. The strong winds will continue through Tuesday morning before decreasing to 20 to 35 mph with gusts to around 50 mph in the afternoon.
The winds will also create areas of blowing snow along Interstate 90.
Precautionary/preparedness actions... a Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 40 to 49 mph with gusts of 58 to 74 mph are possible along the upper Yellowstone River Valley.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Areas of blowing snow will create localized reduced visibility as well as slick areas on the roads. Use extra caution.
