Statement as of 4:33 PM MST on December 08, 2009 ... Wind Chill Advisory now in effect until 9 am MST Wednesday... The Wind Chill Advisory is now in effect until 9 am MST Wednesday. * West winds of 10 to 15 mph... will create wind chill values of 20 to 30 below later tonight and into Wednesday morning. Frostbite can occur in less than 30 minutes with these wind chills. * Expect some areas of blowing snow in open areas after midnight... resulting in areas of reduced visibilities. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear appropriate winter clothing.
