The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 11 am MST Wednesday.
* Widespread snow will develop across north central Montana this evening and continue through Wednesday morning.
* Snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are expected over the plains with 5 to 10 inches possible in the mountains.
* Gusty north to northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow at times. Blowing snow could combine with locally dense freezing fog to reduce visibilities below one quarter of a mile at times.
* Wind chills of 10 to 20 degrees below zero are also expected.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.

* Visibility will drop below one quarter mile in many locations before dissipating during the late morning.
* Some locations will also see icy roads due to freezing fog forming black ice on Road surfaces.
* Locations affected include: Browning... Marias Pass... Logan Pass... Cut Bank... Havre... Great Falls... Kings Hill Pass... Big Sandy... Fort Benton... Helena... MacDonald Pass... Lincoln...
