A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 5 PM Thursday for elevations above 5000 feet. A Winter Weather Advisory for snow remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 5 PM Thursday for elevations below 5000 feet.
Periods of light to moderate snowfall are expected to develop over southwest Montana this evening. The snowfall will continue into Thursday afternoon. By Thursday evening... expect total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches in the Bozeman and Sheridan areas... along with other locations below 5000 feet. For elevations above 500o feet... including the West Yellowstone and Big Sky areas... a general snowfall of 6 to 12 inches can be expected.
Additionally... expect visibilities to be reduced to less than one mile at times in areas of falling snow.
