The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 5 PM MST Thursday.
A moist Pacific storm system will combine with a cooler airmass to bring snow across higher elevations of central Montana starting tonight through Thursday. Precipitation will begin as a mix of rain and snow and then changeover to all snow late tonight for elevations above 5000 feet including the Little Belt Mountains... Highwoods... snowies and Judith Mountains. Total snow accumulations will range from 3 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts possible. Snow will taper to snow showers Thursday afternoon.
