... High Wind Warning now in effect until 3 am MDT Monday...

* winds... west 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.

* Timing... another cold front will move through central Montana
between 4pm and 11pm MDT Sunday. Strong southwest winds will
continue in favored areas along the Rocky Mountain front and
adjacent plains this evening.

* Impacts... minimum relative humidity of 20 to 35 percent will
remain above critical fire weather criteria... but high winds
have the potential to support extreme behavior on existing
fires.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

quality alert for all of north central and southwest Montana until
further notice.

An air quality alert means that particulates have been trending
upwards and that an exceedence of the 24 hour National ambient air
quality Standard (naaqs) has occurred or may occur in the near
future.

Air quality levels range from moderate to unhealthy across much of
central and southwest Montana.

When air quality levels are unhealthy... state and local health
officials recommend that people with respiratory or heart
disease... the elderly... and children should avoid prolonged
exertion; everyone else should limit prolonged exertion.
