Statement as of 10:35 AM MDT on October 11, 2008
... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am MDT Monday...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow remains in effect until 6
am MDT Monday.
Heavy wet snow will result in downed tree limbs and power lines as
well as extremely difficult travel conditions tonight through
Sunday. A rain and snow mixture will become all snow this
afternoon. The snow will be heavy tonight and continue Sunday.
Accumulations of 2 to 4 inches can be expected by this
evening... with heaviest amounts above 3400 feet. Another 8 to 14
inches of snow will fall tonight and Sunday. Total snow
accumulations will be between 1 and 2 feet by the time the snow
tapers off Sunday night.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected. Gusty winds are also possible. This will make travel
very hazardous or impossible.
