The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...

northern Mineral County in west central Montana...

* until 530 PM MDT

* at 323 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain over the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the west Mullan burn scar
will result in debris flow. The debris flow can consist of
rock... mud... vegetation and other loose materials.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move away from recently burned areas. Life threatening flooding of
creeks... roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger Rockslides... mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain... especially in and around these areas.

... Significant weather advisory for southeastern Sanders... west
central Missoula and east central Mineral counties until 500 PM
MDT...

At 413 PM MDT... Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles northwest of Alberton... or 16 miles east of Superior... moving
east at 15 mph.

Pea size hail and winds in excess of 30 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Stark and Ninemile.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 15 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
