...Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 am MST Wednesday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 am MST Wednesday.

* Impacts/timing: a long-lasting snow producer will persist through Wednesday. Moderate to heavy precipitation will redevelop by this evening. Although the mountains will receive heavy snow during this event...snow levels will be on the rise through the period. The lower valleys will begin as snow but will change over to rain during the day Wednesday.

* Snow accumulations: 5 to 10 inches through Wednesday from Seeley Lake to Condon... otherwise 3 to 6 inches. Surrounding mountains could see up to 20 inches by Wednesday.

* Locations impacted include...Highway 200 Bonner to Greenough... Highway 83 Seeley Lake to Condon...I-90 East Missoula to Bearmouth

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel...keep an extra flashlight... food...and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
