Through 3 PM...periods of showers and scattered thunderstorms look to track off to the east at 20 to 25 mph. Some of the rainfall will be moderate to locally heavy...with one hour rainfall amounts possibly near an inch. Forecasters do not anticipate any flooding problems through mid afternoon. Other threats in any strong thunderstorms will be frequent lightning and brief strong wind gusts around 35 mph... which can down small tree limbs or branches while also blowing around unsecured small objects. Be prepared to move to a place of safety in the event threatening weather approaches your area.
