Nowcast as of 11:50 am CST on November 16, 2009
Now
Light rain showers are currently orientated southwest to northeast along a Natchez...to Kosciusko...to Eupora line. The line extends back westward into northeast Louisiana and Mississippi Delta with the back edge located along the Mississippi River. These rain showers are associated with a cold front moving through the region. Rainfall rates will be light with most locations seeing rain totals between a two to four tenths of an inch through today. The heavier amounts will fall along the Highway 82 corridor with less accumulation farther south. The southern extent of the showers has broken apart over the past hour...thus the Jackson Metro area will not see light rain until 1 to 2 PM.
Chance of rain in the late morning...then showers in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy. Highs in the upper 60s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. The chance of rain 90 percent.
Showers likely in the early evening...then a chance of showers from mid evening through the early morning. Slight chance of light rain after midnight. Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 40s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. The chance of rain 30 percent.
