A decent sized rain shield with embedded thunderstorms is currently located across eastern Louisiana and making its way through southwestern Mississippi at this hour. Hourly rainfall amounts will generally be around a quarter of an inch per hour. However...in heavier downpours...areas can receive up to an inch per hour. Additional rain is on the way as a large stretch of rain continues back westward into Louisiana and Texas. Rain and isolated thunderstorms will continue through the morning hours. Rain totals will be upwards of 1-3 inches in some locations across the Highway 84 corridor.
