... Freezing fog advisory in effect until 8 am CST Tuesday...
The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a freezing fog advisory... which is in effect until 8 am CST Tuesday.
Freezing fog and dense freezing fog will produce light ice accumulations on exposed surfaces including bridges and overpasses. Visibilities reduced to one quarter mile or less will occur across northwest Tennessee and perhaps the Missouri bootheel and northeast Arkansas. Other areas will experience visibilities from 1 to 3 miles. Temperatures will remain nearly steady overnight at 32 degrees or less.
Freezing fog will cause travel problems so motorists are urged to use caution.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A freezing fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down... use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also... be alert for frost on bridge decks causing slippery roads.
