A band of showers extending from Starkville to Meridian to Hattiesburg will move east at 15 to 20 mph. The band of showers will affect areas along a line from Columbus to Meridian to Laurel by 10 PM. The showers will be moving ahead of a cold front which was moving east across east Mississippi. Winds will become gusty out of the northwest at around 20 to 25 mph...especially on area lakes where gusts will be a little higher. Rainfall amounts will average from a tenth to locally one quarter inch per hour. Rain showers will end across the east by 9pm this evening.
