Statement as of 2:54 PM CST on November 10, 2009 ... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM CST this afternoon... ... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 8 am to 3 PM CST Wednesday... The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a lake Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 8 am to 3 PM CST Wednesday. A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM CST late this afternoon. Northeast winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph can be expected through the late afternoon as the remnants of Ida continued to move eastward across the Panhandle of Florida. While north winds will be lighter on Wednesday... gusty winds of 20 to 25 mph will still be possible on the larger lakes of Ross Barnett and Columbus. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
