    Statement as of 8:53 PM CDT on May 16, 2008


    The Flood Warning continues for
    the Pearl River near Bogalusa.
    * From Tuesday afternoon until further notice... or until the warning
    is cancelled.
    * At 8:00 PM Friday the stage was 11.6 feet.
    * Minor flooding is forecast.
    * Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
    * Forecast... rise above flood stage by 1 PM Tuesday early afternoon and
    continue to rise to near 19.0 feet by early Friday morning.
    * Impact... at 18.5 feet... Woodlands and crop acreage along the river
    will be flooded. The Bogue Chitto wildlife management area will be
    inundated with water in recreational camps and over access roads
