Coastal Flood Statement
Statement as of 9:31 AM CST on November 10, 2009
... Coastal flooding may exist outside hurricane levee protection...
A few areas along Lake Pontchartrain will experience tide levels
around 2 feet above normal through noon and receding water levels this
afternoon. In addition... brisk northwest winds will assist in
lowering water levels along the Mississippi coast and North Shores
of Lake Pontchartrain. Water levels along the south shores of Lake
Pontchartrain will lower later this afternoon.

... Wind Advisory in effect until noon CST today...
The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect until noon CST today.
North winds of gusting up to 35 mph are expected to continue
across coastal sections of Hancock... Harrison and Jackson counties
through this morning. Winds will diminished this afternoon.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
