Flood Warning extended until Saturday evening... the Flood Warning continues for the Pascagoula at Merrill * until Saturday evening * at 8am Wednesday the stage was 24.2 feet * minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast * flood stage is 22 feet * the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Saturday early afternoon. 911 am CST Wed Dec 23 2009 ... Flood Warning extended until further notice... the Flood Warning continues for the Chickasawhay at Leakesville * until further notice * at 8am Wednesday the stage was 26.7 feet * minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast * flood stage is 20 feet * the river will continue to fall to a stage of 25.3 feet by . 911 am CST Wed Dec 23 2009 ... Flood Warning extended until Friday afternoon... the Flood Warning continues for the Leaf near McLain * until Friday afternoon * at 8am Wednesday the stage was 22.4 feet * minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast * flood stage is 18 feet * the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by late Friday morning.

Statement as of 3:29 PM CST on December 23, 2009 ... Wind Advisory in effect from 9 am to 9 PM CST Thursday... The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 9 am to 9 PM CST Thursday. A strong cold front will quickly move eastward toward the region during the day Thursday... moving across the area Thursday evening. Breezy to windy conditions will develop ahead of the front by Thursday morning and continue through the evening hours. Southeasterly to southerly sustained winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph with frequent gusts of 3o to 35 mph expected. Winds will decrease and become westerly after the frontal passage Thursday night. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds or frequent gusts of 25 to 39 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. In addition... it is also a good idea to secure any loose outdoor objects such a trash cans... patio furniture... and Holiday decorations.
