Statement as of 8:57 PM CST on December 03, 2009 ... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Friday evening through late Friday night... A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Friday evening through late Friday night. Light snow is expected to develop across southwest Mississippi and southern portions of northeast Louisiana Friday evening. The snow is expected to become moderate into Friday night as it spreads eastward across the remainder of southern Mississippi. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches will be possible. Most of the snow will accumulate on grassy and elevated surfaces... though slush on roadways will make for hazardous travel conditions. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
