Lake Wind Advisory
Statement as of 10:25 AM CST on November 11, 2009
... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM CST this
afternoon...
A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM CST this
afternoon.
The winds will become north at 20 to 25 mph... with higher gusts... on
Ross Barnett Reservoir... Okatibbee Lake... and Columbus Lake today.
These winds are the result of the tight pressure gradient northwest
of departing low pressure system. The pressure gradient will decrease
late this afternoon... allowing the winds to diminish.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
