Light to moderate rain showers will continue to push across the area from west to east in association with a surface low positioned just off of the coast of Plaquemines Parish. This activity as a whole is pushing off to the east at around 25 mph. Rainfall rates of up to one half inch per hour can be expected in addition to gusty winds in excess of 30 mph. Motorists should use extra caution this morning due to ponding of water on roadways and gusty winds.

The Flood Warning continues for the Pearl River near Pearl River. * Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 5:30 am Friday the stage was 17.3 feet. * Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * The flood stage is 14.0 feet. * Forecast... the river is expected to continue rising to near 18.5 feet by Tuesday morning before beginning to slowly fall. * Impact... at 19.0 feet... there will be major flooding of River Gardens and moderate flooding of lower portions in Magnolia Forest subdivisions. Subdivisions south of I-10 and east of military Road will be threatened with flooding. The Indian Village Road access to River Oaks subdivision will be under water at several places.

The Flood Warning continues for the Pearl River near Bogalusa. * Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 5:00 am Friday the stage was 21.0 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * The flood stage is 18.0 feet. * Forecast... the river is expected to continue rising to near 21.3 feet by early Sunday morning before beginning to slowly fall. * Impact... at 21.0 feet... Woodlands and crop acreage along the river will be flooded. The Bogue Chitto wildlife management area will be inundated with water in recreational camps and over access roads. At 21 feet property east of Louisiana Highway 21 along Bogalusa creek will begin to flood.

Gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph will be possible especially over elevated highways. This will lead to hazardous driving conditions during rush hour. Winds will slack off after 9am as the surface low pushes east across the north-central Gulf
