Tropical storm conditions possible. Cloudy with rain likely in the morning...then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Rain may be heavy at times in the morning. Highs in the lower 70s. Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 45 mph shifting to the north 15 to 20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 60 percent.

* Until 6 am CST Tuesday
* rain associated with Tropical Storm Ida will continue to affect coastal Mississippi through the overnight hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches will be possible through late tonight.
* Impacts include a likelihood of nuisance street flooding and ponding of water in poorly drained areas. In addition... communities near tidal influenced waterways may experience slow drainage due to higher than normal tides.

... Winds... as Tropical Storm Ida continues to move toward the coast... sustained high winds will continue affect the area. The latest forecast is for maximum winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts to 65 mph to begin soon and continue tonight. Winds should begin to ease late tonight and Tuesday morning.
... Storm surge and storm tide... at midnight CST... a tide gauge near Pascagoula was reporting water levels that were about 2 feet higher than normal. Storm surge flooding of 4 to 6 feet above normal outside of hurricane protection levees is expected through Tuesday morning.
