Precautionary/preparedness actions... precautionary/preparedness actions... Tropical storm conditions are occurring. Remain alert and stay inside. ... Winds... as Tropical Storm Ida continues to move toward the coast... sustained high winds will continue affect the area. The latest forecast is for maximum winds of 30 to 40 mph. Minor damage will be possible to Mobile homes. A few homes may receive mostly minor damage to roof shingles and siding. Unsecured lightweight items may become projectiles... causing additional damage. ... Storm surge and storm tide... at 6 am CST... a tide gauge near Pascagoula was reporting water levels that were about 1 feet higher than normal. Storm surge flooding of 1 to 3 feet above normal outside of hurricane protection levees is expected tonight through Tuesday morning. Some Road closures have already occurred and additional Road closures are possible through Tuesday morning. Flooding of a few feet of water may occur in non elevated structures or those built on a slabs... causing damage. Roads along the coast... bayous and low lying areas may close with upwards of several feet of water on them. Residents in these areas should take action to protect property and head evacuation advice from emergency management. ... Inland flooding... a Flood Watch is in effect for the entire area.
