A few areas along Lake Pontchartrain will experience tide levels around 2 feet above normal through noon and receding water levels this afternoon. In addition... brisk northwest winds will assist in lowering water levels along the Mississippi coast and North Shores of Lake Pontchartrain. Water levels along the south shores of Lake Pontchartrain will lower later this afternoon.

..new information... Tropical Depression Ida continues to move inland and weaken over southern Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.

... Winds... tropical cyclone warnings have been discontinued. However... strong gusty winds of up to 30 mph will continue through the morning hours. A Wind Advisory is in effect due to these strong gusty winds. Winds will weaken this afternoon as Tropical Depression Ida continues to move away from the region.
... Storm surge and storm tide... a coastal flood statement is now in effect for the area through this evening. Tides remain 1 to 2 feet above normal and are expected to slowly fall through the day as northwest winds remain in place. Some minor flooding of low lying roads remains possible.

Flood, reported by Emergency Mngr.
Coastal flooding inundation of several low lying roads and streets in Hancock County from Bay St. Louis... near Saint Louis Bay... to Pearlington including Shoreline Park area. Many roads were either impassable or had high water. Water had receded between 930 and 1030 PM... but rose dramatically around midnight. Waveland tide gage showed a rise of 1.5 feet in the last 4 hours.
