* until 345 am CDT
* at 141 am CDT National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated very
heavy rain over the advisory area. Over the past hour... 1 to 2
inches of rainfall has fallen across the affected area.
Locations affected by the urban and small stream flood advisory
include Charleston... George Payne State Park... Water Valley...
Belen... Coffeeville and Crowder.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
.Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area... as rain and thunderstorms continue to redevelop over
the same areas to the north of a stalling frontal boundary.
.Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle
into areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are
usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is
powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering
flooded roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
.Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.
