Northeast winds will increase to 15 to 20 mph this afternoon and continue tonight... with gusts up to 30 mph... as Tropical Storm Ida approaches the central Gulf Coast. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

NOAA Weather Radio all hazards station kih-49 transmitting on a frequency 162.55 mhz from Rose Hill Mississippi... will be off the air through this afternoon. A technician has been dispatched to the site and repairs should begin early this afternoon. We apologize for any inconvenience this outage may cause and hope to have this resolved as quickly as possible.
