... Heat advisory in effect from 12 PM Sunday to 7 am CDT Monday...
The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a heat advisory... which is in effect from 12 PM Sunday to 7 am CDT Monday.
Hot temperatures will return to the area on Sunday with highs expected to reach 98 to 102 degrees. These readings will combine with a humid airmass and result in heat index values between 104 and 108 degrees. Not much relief is expected overnight Sunday as low temperatures should only fall to the mid 70s. Additionally... Sunday looks to be the first of several days of very hot and humid conditions. Expect the heat advisory to be extended into the first and middle part of next week.
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and neighbors.
