Lake Wind Advisory
Statement as of 9:24 PM CST on November 10, 2009
... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect from 8 am to 3 PM CST
Wednesday...
A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect from 8 am to 3 PM CST
Wednesday.
By mid-morning Wednesday... winds will become north at 20 to
25 mph... with higher gusts... on Ross Barnett Reservoir...
Okatibbee Lake... and Columbus Lake. These winds are the result of
the tight pressure gradient northwest of departing low pressure
currently over the Florida Panhandle. The pressure gradient will
decrease Wednesday evening... allowing the winds to diminish.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
